FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY ARE VAN BOOKINGS CONDUCTED THROUGH CAMPLIFY?

We use Camplify to ensure a simple, convenient, safe and secure transaction that includes insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance to all hirers. Camplify is Australia's leading campervan, motorhome and caravan hire platform and runs similarly to 'Airbnb'. 

 

TO BOOK:

  1. Click the 'Book Now' link which will redirect you to our Camplify listing.

  2. Sign up for an account - you can use your email address or Facebook/Google login. 

  3. Choose one of our vans and follow the prompts to submit your booking request.

  4. After we have accepted your booking, you can proceed to payment. If your trip is more than 30 days away, a 25% deposit is due within 72 hours. The remaining amount is automatically deducted from your nominated card 30 days before your trip. If your trip is within 30 days, the full amount is due upfront. 

  5. Relax and get ready for your trip! We will confirm the pick up details with you the week prior to your booking.

WHO CAN DRIVE THE VANS?

You must have a full driver's licence and be 21 years or older to drive our vans. We will require proof of licence when picking up the van. You are also able to drive the van with an international licence that is recognised by the QLD Government. During the booking process, follow the steps to verify your international licence - this involves sending a copy of your licence and passport to customersupport@camplify.com.au

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT THAT I BREAK DOWN OR AM INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT?

Your booking through Camplify includes insurance and 24/7 NRMA nationwide roadside assistance. Whilst the vehicle is in your care, you are responsible for any damage to the hired van or caused to third party property. Camplify offers excess reduction packages to reduce the amount of excess you have to pay. If you break down, are involved in an unexpected accident or mistakenly leave the keys inside, call 1300 416 133 for immediate assistance.

IS A SECURITY BOND REQUIRED?

Yes - the amount is held as a pending transaction on your credit card. The amount varies depending on the van however Camplify will clearly state this before you book. The full amount is returned to you following your trip after we have submitted the post hire checklist. If in the event of damage, the amount to repair the damage or replace lost items during the hire will be deducted from the security bond.

WHAT IS OUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If the hirer has not made payment within 72 hours of us accepting the booking, the booking will be cancelled.

We follow Camplify's 'STRICT' cancellation policy:

  •  > 45 Days prior to booking start date:
    Hirer: 100% Camplify credit (Refund available upon request*)

  • 20 - 45 Days prior to booking start date:
    Hirer Cancellation Cost: Booking Fee plus 10% of total booking value, balance Camplify Credit

  • < 20 Days prior to booking:
    Hirer: No credit, no refund

WHERE CAN I TAKE THE VAN?

The vans are 2WD and you can explore wherever you wish as long as it is within the 200km average daily limit and not off-road. We would recommend looking on the Hipcamp website or downloading the WikiCamps app for great places to stay (campsites and free camping options). Visit our blog posts for some suggested places within QLD and the Northern NSW region. 

 

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD?

The minimum hire period is 3 days (eg. Friday - Sunday). Please note Camplify calculate it as daily hire cost (e.g similar to car rental). 

CAN I DROP THE VAN OFF IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION TO THE PICK UP DESTINATION?

No, the vans must be picked up and dropped off at our location in Brisbane. We are located 15 mins from Brisbane CBD and conveniently based for you to start exploring QLD and Northern NSW.  We also offer airport pick up/drop off for interstate and international guests.

ARE THERE SET PICK UP AND DROP OFF TIMES?

We will do our best to accommodate the times that suit you. Generally pick up is anytime from 8am onwards and drop off is by 5pm. 

 

DO I NEED A POWERED CAMPSITE?

No - our vans are fully equipped for off-grid camping. The solar panel (along with driving the van)  will charge up the second leisure battery which is sufficient for powering all electrics including the fridge, internal lights, the HDTV, inbuilt bluetooth speakers and power sockets. So do not worry about having a flat battery and not being able to start the van!

ARE THE VANS PET FRIENDLY?

Yes all our vans are pet friendly with an associated small pet fee. 

DO I NEED TO PAY FOR TOLL ROADS OR FINES?

Yes - if you choose to drive via any toll roads, you will be billed for these. Luckily, the Brisbane region and its surrounds has excellent non-toll highways that will get you to your destination in no time at all. This is the same case if you receive a parking ticket or speeding fine - you are liable to pay for these. 

DO I NEED TO CLEAN THE VANS?

Please return the van in the same condition as the beginning of hire. 

 

CAN THE VANS BE FITTED WITH A BABY SEAT?

Yes we offer car seats which can be safely set up in the front middle seat. You are also welcome to bring your own child seat and we can assist you with fitting it during pick up. We have a queen size bed for co-sleeping and do not have a separate spot in the van for a baby cot/bed.  

DO WE OFFER GIFT VOUCHERS?
